Conference Schedule

Technical Program

The 38th North American Conference on Molecular Beam Epitaxy (NAMBE 2024) is a prominent international forum for reporting scientific and technological developments in Molecular Beam Epitaxy research.

The conference showcases important results from fundamental materials and device research, through technological applications, and into high-volume and low-cost production. NAMBE features the presentations of the Art Gossard MBE Innovator Award, the NAMBE Young Investigator Award, the Best Student Paper awards, and the inaugural Jim Harris MBE Scientific Discovery Award.

In addition to a diverse technical program, vendors will exhibit the latest equipment available for material growth and characterization. The exhibit will surround the coffee breaks and poster presentations, providing many opportunities for discussions between attendees and vendors. There will also be a job board.

The Workshop on Epitaxial Growth of Infrared Materials will be held July 20-21, 2024. The Workshop will be all invited with a poster session.

Don’t miss the Welcome Reception tonight from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the Tisch Library Rooftop Function Space – the reception is a casual gathering where attendees can network, enjoy refreshments, and a fantastic view of the city! The Tisch Library is in the middle of the Tufts campus and is a short walking distance from the Cummings Center. It is an uphill walk, but is relatively flat if starting from the central parking garage (Dowling Hall, 419 Boston Ave.).

Conference Banquet

Tuesday, July 23, 2024

All registered attendees are invited to the conference banquet – a cruise in Boston Harbor aboard the Odyssey. The ship will board starting at 6:00 p.m. and will sail from 7:00 p.m-9:30 p.m. Round trip bus transportation will be provided to the ship, which boards at Rowes Wharf in Boston. Buses will board at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Tufts Sports Complex at 161 College Ave., next door to the Joyce Cummings Center. After the cruise, buses will return to both the Cummings Center and the Hyatt Place Boston/Medford (the conference hotel).
